Karst’s colors – I colori del Carso
2025, 30x30x6 cm, cut up smoke tree leaves on paper
Immersed in the hills of the Karst, the autumn colors vibrate between sunlight and the bora wind. The smoke tree (Cotinus coggygria), a symbolic plant of the autumn foliage, dyes the landscape in shifting tones — from yellow to bright red, to deep shades of purple.
The artwork translates this chromatic richness into a composition of color units, fragments that reassemble like pixels of a landscape, evoking the vitality of this borderland between Italy and Slovenia.
