After spending over a decade in the Primorska region, I developed a personal and professional connection to the Karst through fieldwork, observation, and exploration. What first comes to my mind are its diverse meadows and traditional drystones. Cultural landmarks that also serve as important ecological habitats. These human-made structures offer food, shelter, and breeding sites for various species.
Through this project my aim was to highlight the intrinsic connection between cultural heritage and natural ecosystems. This series consists of seven oil paintings: one large landscape piece as a central motif, accompanied by six smaller looser works that capture glimpses of my Karst my interpretation and our time there. Together they form a symbolic drystone wall.
